Congratulations to our November 2025 Impact Award recipients from Fairmont High School!
• Martha Bullard, Classified Employee of the Month, FHS Bus Driver and Custodian
• Alita Lumbab, Certified Employee of the Month, FHS Math Educator
Bullard is celebrated for her unwavering dedication, keeping Fairmont High spotless while stepping in to drive bus routes with a smile and a servant’s heart.
Lumbab is applauded for transforming math achievement at Fairmont High, boosting proficiency through exceptional instruction and tireless commitment to her students.
These remarkable staff members go above and beyond every day—thank you for living out One Team. One Goal.
🪶 Native American Heritage Month
PSRC schools continue celebrating culture, heritage, and contributions of Native American communities across our district.
🎁 Teacher & Staff Incentives
Trusting in Jesus Ministry shared new incentive opportunities—including classroom and staff Visa gift card drawings—to support attendance, morale, and encouragement throughout the school year.
📣 Student Recognition
Shout-out to Purnell Swett cheerleaders Keely Deal, Keela Woods & Kendra Burns for stepping up in a moment of need and embodying leadership and compassion. We honored them during the meeting for their swift action and response to assist another student in a time of need.
💡 Bright Ideas Grant Winners
We celebrated PSRC educators who received Lumbee River EMC Bright Ideas Grants for innovative classroom projects. 📚 National Award Winner
Congratulations to Favy Tolentino Rayon, a PSRC Early College student, for being named the national winner of the 2025 NEHS Banned Books Week Art Award!
🤝 Family Engagement Excellence
PSRC has been recognized as a 2025 Exemplary Partnership District by the National Center for Families Learning & UNC Greensboro. This honor includes a $1,000 award to strengthen family engagement across our schools. Congratulations to PSRC Family Engagement Specialist Brendalyn Thompson for her work and receipt of this honor!
🎓 UNCP Partnerships
UNC Pembroke shared exciting updates about partnerships with the school district—including teacher pipeline programs, literacy initiatives, clinical partnerships, and the opportunity for an upcoming Healthy Eyes, Bright Minds vision care collaboration through the future optometry program at the university.
🌌 Planetarium Naming Request
The request to name the new planetarium in the Robeson County Career and Technical Education Center (Robeson CTEC) after James Hooks will move forward to the Construction Committee for review before it returns to the full board with a recommendation from the committee.
