LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County (PSRC) recognized its December 2025 Impact Award recipients during the Tuesday, December 9 Board of Education meeting, honoring two outstanding employees whose dedication and service exemplify the district’s “One Team, One Goal” motto.
These monthly awards highlight individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to students, staff and school communities. The district extends sincere appreciation to Mr. Austin Jacobs and Chick-fil-A for sponsoring this month’s gift cards, and to Mr. Brandon Ventura and Sign City for generously sponsoring the award plaques.
Certified Impact Award Recipient: Jessica Cummings
PSRC proudly recognized Ms. Jessica Cummings, 4th Grade Teacher at Rex-Rennert Elementary School, as the December Certified Impact Award recipient.
Ms. Cummings is celebrated for her commitment to student growth, instructional innovation, and schoolwide support, serving not only as a 4th grade Math Teacher but also as a Digital Teaching and Learning Coach and Lego Club Coordinator.
“Ms. Jessica Cummings has made a lasting impact on our school community as a dedicated 4th grade Math Teacher, Digital Teaching and Learning Coach, and Lego Club Coordinator. Her passion for teaching has inspired countless students to develop a love for problem-solving and critical thinking. She has shared her knowledge and love for technology to assist staff with the rollout of Infinite Campus. Ms. Cummings has brought joy and creativity to students, fostering teamwork and collaboration,” said Rex-Rennert Elementary Principal Nikki Brooks.
The district honors Ms. Cummings for the powerful difference she makes each day in the lives of her students, colleagues, and the broader school community.
Classified Impact Award Recipient: Teresa Jones
The district also proudly recognized Ms. Teresa Jones, Teacher Assistant at Rowland-Norment Elementary School, as the December Classified Impact Award recipient.
After a successful career in the private sector, Ms. Jones brought her experience and deep compassion to her role in the Extended Content Standards classroom for Exceptional Children, where she demonstrates remarkable patience, professionalism, and care.
“Without question, Teresa Jones embodies the true spirit of dedication and compassion in education. After a successful career in the private sector, she brought her wealth of experience and love for children to our school community. In our Extended Content Standards classroom for Exceptional Children, Mrs. Jones demonstrates remarkable patience, professionalism, and care every single day. Her genuine kindness, faith, and positive nature brighten our school and inspire all who have the pleasure of working with her,” said Principal Dr. Joanna Cole.
PSRC celebrates Ms. Jones for the meaningful and lasting impact she makes each day through her service to students and staff.
