LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County proudly congratulates Mrs. Melissa Wynne, PSRC Secondary Math (Grades 6-12) Supervisor, on her selection as a 2026 North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) Secondary Mathematics Learning Leader.

Mrs. Wynne was chosen to join a distinguished statewide cohort of mathematics educators who lead and strengthen instructional practices within their districts, regions, and across North Carolina.

“Joining the NCCAT Learning Leaders cohort is a chance to gather the best ideas from across the state and bring them home. This opportunity is really about service to our educators. Our math teachers work incredibly hard, and my mission is to ensure they have the best possible support and resources,” Wynne said.

As an NCCAT Learning Leader, she will collaborate with fellow education leaders to advance high-quality math instruction, professional learning, and student achievement.

PSRC Superintendent Dr. Freddie Williamson shared congratulatory remarks for Wynne’s selection as a 2026 NCCAT Secondary Mathematics Learning Leader.

“Mrs. Wynne is a passionate and dedicated leader who is very deserving of this opportunity to learn from others, make connections, and continue growing in the profession she loves,” Dr. Williamson said. “We are proud to see her recognized at the state level and look forward to the impact her work will continue to have on our schools and school district as a whole.”

As part of her participation in the 2026 NCCAT Secondary Mathematics Learning Leaders Cohort, Mrs. Wynne will take part in immersive leadership seminars in Ocracoke, North Carolina.

“I look forward to bringing back fresh, research-based strategies from Ocracoke that will maximize our educators’ impact in the classroom while still lightening their load. When we support our teachers’ growth, our students reap the rewards,” Wynne said.

“Mathematics opens doors to opportunities and pathways to success for students, and I am committed to ensuring those doors are wide open in PSRC for our teachers and our students," she added.
